NEW: Zimbabwe trip & auction, 2008-2009

Exciting news!!

We are sending another mission group to Kuwadzana this winter and need everyone's prayers and support now & throughout the trip. AJ Nadeau will be joined by Matt & Kaitlyn (Tebordo) Wood, Abigail Tebordo, and hopefully Kaitlyn's friend & former Eastern College classmate Tara, leaving for Harare shortly after Christmas 2008.

Jonnah & Tracey are thrilled that, in spite of the unstable political and economic situation in Zimbabwe, there are people from our church willing to follow God's call to service with our sister church. It means more than we can imagine for the people there to receive visitors from the U.S., and as they always say, is tangible evidence of God's love and the love of the United Church in the midst of very difficult conditions for our Zimbabwean brothers & sisters.

Sunday, November 16th,
We will be having an auction & dinner after church to raise funds for the team's expenses while staying in Harare. Thanks to Dave & Amy Stowell for heading the auction up this year!

Please consider giving to the Zimbabwe Travel fund, donating goods or services to the auction, and coming out to support the team in November! Thanks to your generosity AJ was able to raise over $3,000 for the Kuwadzana creche with his walk in June--so we know you have a heart for Zimbabwe and for our sister church. Regardless of what happens to our economy here at home, we are still wealthy compared to these Zimbabwean Christians--and part of the reason their faith remains strong is because they are blessed by the many ways God uses your abundant gifts.

The United Church of Cohoes will hold its annual administrative meeting on Sunday, October 26th immediately following the morning service. Please join us to hear reports of where we have been during the past year, and add your voice & your votes to the path our church will travel in 2009.
