21st - The International Day of Peace ("Peace Day") provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and nations to create practical acts of peace on a shared date. It was established by a United Nations resolution in 1981 to coincide with the opening of the General Assembly. The first Peace Day was celebrated in September 1982.

In 2002 the General Assembly officially declared September 21 as the permanent date for the International Day of Peace.

Note: Kingdom Bound is next month (August) from the 2nd to the 6th. If you want to go to Kingdom Bound but need a scholarship (cost is $250.00) please see Kaitlyn to set up work time at the Church - 25 hours will cover the whole cost of the trip; if you only need partial scholarship you can work part of these hours. These hours can include work for our older Church members (mowing lawn, cleaning, etc) and on the church property.
