the hands and the feet of Christ"
Thanks to all who participated in the Strides for a Better Tomorrow fundraiser on September 12!
Special thanks to Merchnow for their donation of beautiful T-shirts, and to Tex's Pig Pit for the delicious BBQ!
****IMPORTANT UPDATE****
As of this week, our "Making Strides" fundraiser has brought in over $1,500! THANK YOU so much to all who participated; Dan & Mary's agricultural mission and the children of Kuwadzana will also thank you for this support in a time of great difficulty for Zimbabwe.
These are some of the orphans and preschool children who have been fed by the Kuwadzana Presbyterian Church with your donations:
We believe that God has called us to stand in the gap for our sister church in Zimbabwe, including daily prayer and sacrificial giving.
Zimbabwe Update: Dan and his bride Mary are in Zimbabwe beginning a three-year stint as agricultural missionaries with Farming God's Way. PRAY for them to receive their work permits soon--right now they are still in the country on tourist visas, which have been renewed for a second thirty-day term.
We have high hopes for this dynamic couple and their dedication to teaching Zimbabweans to farm in ways that can feed their families without expensive equipment or potentially harmful chemicals. Pray for the success of this mission. As Pastor Jonnah Masaka has said, although the people of Kuwadzana are thankful for our support, they long for the day when they can feed their own families without relying on the charity of others.
Please consider giving to this awesome cause by clicking on the link on the sidebar, or by mailing a check to the United Church for the Zimbabwe mission fund.
This link will take you to a website called "The Zimbabwe Situation" that contains updates about Zimbabwe from the major news agencies worldwide--But remember: regardless of what the news says, we know that God is in control of the situation and wants us to pray for Zimbabwe! The Zimbabwe Situation
The Masakas thank you for your prayers and giving--Rev. Masaka assures us that their people only survive through the prayers of many brothers & sisters worldwide. Pray for them every morning at 8:00--and give as you are able. Whenever you have helped one of God's children, you have done the same for Jesus!
